On the faith
of Etoth - Brotherhood of the Scales
Supremely devout to their god, this sect seeks
only to bring law and order to all. They are not concerned with intent,
they cannot be reasoned with, they cannot be tempted with material
wealth. They judge and enforce the laws with single-minded
determination. These crusaders for the law are chosen as the most wise
of Etoth's priests. Their word on matters of civil law is final.
Travelers-
These priests are the newest to the brotherhood. They are given the name
because they travel from small village to village to settle civil
disputes.
Orators-
These priest are judges for the cities of the Empire. They work in odd
numbered groups, depending on the size of the city. Smaller cities would
have maybe a council of three, larger cities can have as high as a
council of seven.
Imperial Orators
- The leading council of the church of Etoth. The governing
bodies consult with this council when creating civil laws. They are said
to work closely with the temple of Lochwar and with the Emperor and his
councilors. They are the highest authority when it comes to interpreting
the law.
Warriors of the
Scales- While not judges, these soldiers are the enforcers of the
brotherhood. These warriors travel with the judges as bodyguards and
enforcers. They are often recruited from local law enforcement.
It must be noted that those of the brotherhood are almost exclusively
male. In very rare circumstances a female priestess of Etoth has proven
herself worthy to enter the Brotherhood, but never rose higher than the
rank of Orator. |
