A
Proclamation issued throughout the province of Dasaria following the
wedding of his Imperial Majesty Marcus IV
In so far as
all men of learning acknowledge at all that is good comes from the peace
and stability of strong governance let it be known henceforth that he
who engages in acts of
Rebellion or
Sedition or
Civil
disobedience against the
State; who
speaks ill of the Imperial Consort; who invokes or worships false gods;
who wears the regalia of proscribed militant orders or processes the
tokens of proscribed societies; who withholds legally due taxes or
tithes; or who processes banned writings or artifacts has set himself
outsides the bounds of society and as such forsakes the protection of
the State.
Let it be
known that the lands, properties, chattels and lives of enemies of the
State are
forfeit to the State,
to be disposed of by the
State for the
greater good of the
State.
As a
benevolent ruler it is the
Emperor's
will that, as in other provinces of the Empire, the death penalty be
only an act of last resort for the most treasonous of crimes. Yet
equally his Imperial Majesty does not wish that his loyal subjects toil
under the heavy burden of taxes necessary to pay for expensive prisons.
As such, it is his will that those who set themselves outside the bounds
of society, where to do so will not put his loyal subjects at further
risk, shall work for society until such time as their debt to society is
paid. The length of indenture service shall be commensurate with the
crime as outlined in the Duseric articles of indenture.
Aiding or
colluding in the escape of indentured servants is an act of treason.
