Dreaming

[Farwalker]

*The late evening gives way to the cool and silent night. The moon is full and her power can be felt by all. A gentle breeze moves through the trees and grass. The pain and evil from the latest attack by Canas’ forces have dispersed again. A welcome peace comes over the wilds. The young elvin druid Tohopka sits alone in the dark of night. He is the outcast druid learner forbidden to ever return to Rian again. He feels lost and un guided. However he feels the hope from Iaosia’s embrace he felt only a few hours ago. There was the Plowman and the gift Tohopka received from him. “It will free your mind.” The Plowman said. In his hand he holds the moss that the strange plowman gave him*

“I am ready to dream.”

*Tohopka places the moss in his mouth, chews, and swallows.*

“Mother Ki I pray you come to me. I call the Elements of Nature to me. Earth! Air! Water! Fire! Elements of Nature circle round me; in Mother Ki’s name I bid you. Join me in my dream.”

*The grass moves as the wind rolls across it, like the tides of the ocean swaying gently. The taste of the moss could be described as damp hay, with an aftertaste of rotten apples. At the base of the hill Kale comes into view, walking steadily towards Tohopka with a gnarled branch being used as a crude staff. A feeling of warmth begins to envelope Tohopka, as if a cotton blanket had been pulled over his entire body. Kale calls out, still several yards away from Tohopka, his face shadowed by the moon above.*

"Hello again my friend! How does the evening treat you?"

[Farwalker]

*Tohopka awaits the effects of the moss and the the beginning of the dream as he hears the Plowman's voice.*
*He smiles*
"I am well. I have taken your gift and am awaiting my dream."

[ChikenKannon]

"Wonderful. I assume no more than you can withstand, Brother?"

*Kale asks, stopping himself a few yards away from Tohopka, his face still shaded. A cloud lazily drifts across the sky, blotting out the moon and it's light. The only pinpricks of light come from inside the walls of Cear, causing only faint outlines to be visible to Tohopka. Underfoot vibrations can be felt, a weak pulse throbs through Tohopkas feet.*

[Farwalker]

*looks at Kale*
"I have taken all of it."

[ChikenKannon]

"Oh myy... thhaaat iiiiissn't goooooooooood. Trrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeee nnnnnnnnnooooooooooooooooooooooot toooooooooooooooooo buuuuuuuuuuhhhhhh-iiii......."

*As if the world began to slow down, Kale's words stretch onwards until finally they become impossible to discern. Muffled speech fades becoming quieter and quieter in comparison to the steady heartbeat below which grows louder with every passing moment. The wind whistles sharply, in it's chaos a fast ever changing melody can be heard. Off in the distance you can hear the seas softly singing. Kale stands frozen before you, his mouth open just as he was when he began to speak.*

*Tohopka's eyes widen at the frozen figure. Fortunatly Iaosia's blessing protects him from any damaging poisons. However, the effect is most overcoming. Tohopka himself freezes with the world itself*

*As Tohopka freezes, he begins to pay even more attention to his surroundings, the song can still be heard with it's winding melody. But the city of Cear also has it's own screech, and by focusing more on the sound it makes, Tohopka finds it harder and harder to comprehend what he sees. Colors bleed from the surroundings, Kale becomes a smudge infront of Tohopka.

All that remains visible: Trees, bending back and forth as if trying to pull themselves closer to the sky. Clouds, now rushing through the sky as solid as a river. A dim burning sun, warming all in it's view. And upon closer inspection these elements have faces, even in the air a face can be seen peering back at Tohopka*

[Farwalker]

*Tohopka looks at the faces of the elements around him and speaks to them*

"Teachers?"

[Farwalker]

"Teachers, children of Mother Ki, I come to you dreaming. . . ."

[ChikenKannon]

*The faces speak as one, thousands of voices overlayed speaking in hundreds of languages.*

Yes and no. We stem from the mother, but this is no dream.

[Farwalker]

"Where am I teachers?"

[ChikenKannon]

"In the hills of Cear."

[Farwalker]

This is the effect of the Mother's moss?

"It could be. Or perhaps the veil has been drawn back for you?

*The trees around Tohopka close in towards the elf without moving, one moment being far away, the next being besides you. The sun overhead draws so near that Tohopka's skin begins to boil. Stones roll and collect by Tohopka's feet.

"Why have you come where most dare not?"
